Kalamain was the Main Contractor for this project and appointed by the consulting team due to our ability to work within time, quality and cost concerns for the team and client. The school was intended to be ongoing as such execution during normal school hours was a concern that needed to be managed resulting in us having to schedule our noisy works accordingly.

The full scope was to build three blocks with 6 classrooms and 3 sets of ablutions, however due to budget constraints only two blocks were built with the third intended to be done when more funding becomes available.

We proposed a steel roof structure to be integrated into the brick work which saw a 15% cost saving in the roof structure and roof cover which was a considerable saving. The ceiling was a pine Tounge and Groove ceiling which exposed the steel truss creating the architectural effect intended or an exposed truss system.

Due to Covid-19 shut downs and restrained working conditions, the duration of contract was extended however at no cost to client as this was a circumstance beyond all of our control.
